From a Women’s Point Of View


In the early 80’s Rosalyn moved to New York City to pursue a career in fashion design and modeling. With a degree in Fashion Merchandising from Kent State University, shortly after her move, Rosalyn was hired as Fashion Editor and Stylist for Honey Child Magazine, and worked as a Reporter/Production Coordinator for Brewer Productions.

As a reporter for, Brewer Productions, who supplied many New York celebrity segments to Black Entertainment Television(B.E.T.), Roz conducted interviews with celebrities such as, recording artists Al B. Sure, Allison Williams; actor Richard Lawson; drummer Omar Hakeem; and Jazz group Pieces of Dream. While working for Brewer Production Rosalyn developed a passion for reporting and communications.

After leaving Honey Child and Brewer Production Rosalyn continued to work in various fields of communication such as event planning fundraising management, advertising, cable TV, television production, and publishing for leading companies like Showtime Networks, Lockhart & Pettus Advertising, and Relief, a accompany she formed which specialized in organizing fundraising events.

Currently, Ms. Strain is a single mother of 2 beautiful daughters and has returned to the work she loves as much as fashion designing and tailoring -- reporting and communications.
